Our PartArt4OW project announced the launch of its First Open Call on Monday, February 3, 2025, inviting artists, scientists, civic society actors, and communities to collaborate on participatory art initiatives (PAIs) that address pressing ocean and water basin challenges.

With the increasing urgency of climate change and environmental degradation, PartArt4OW aims to foster innovative, interdisciplinary approaches that blend art, science, and community action to drive meaningful impact. The selected initiatives will receive funding, mentoring, and networking opportunities as part of an accelerator program designed to maximize their effectiveness and outreach.

The open call provides a unique opportunity for creative minds, artists, scientific experts and communities to co-design projects that inspire action, enhance ocean and promote water literacy. PartArt4OW seeks proposals that demonstrate scientific rigor, artistic innovation, inclusivity, sustainability, and broad societal impact.

  • Increase ocean literacy
  • Increase awareness on challenges and pressures faced by the ocean and inland waters
  • Mobilise citizens and stakeholders for the protection and restoration of the ocean and inland waters
  • Engaging local communities for protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity
